Looking to feel inspired? Try looking out your window! What's more inspiring than this beautiful planet and the colors she wears in the fall? The deep reds to yellows, the natural textures of dried cornstalks and fields relinquishing their once vivid greens over to more earthy hues. How about the striking silhouettes of barren tree branches against the pale sky?
Autumnal color palettes can invigorate your senses! There are many great new textured fabrics and prints in these color ranges to help you pull off a change of seasons in your own home. Let's walk our way through a home makeover at Talsma's with this decorating scheme.
First step. We will need the right sofa. There is one that will do the trick, our "Laramie" sofa. This sofa features a rich chocolate brown microfiber, and pillows that have great rust to gold tones. Next, we need a chair. Hmmm. How about the "Magee". It is a smaller print, which is a good coordinate with the larger print on our pillows.
Next... Artwork! This one is called "autumn splendor" how appropriate.
Tables... we need tables. I like these. Iron on the bottom, marble on top, wood edge.... lots of texture!
Let's accent with some light green, like some extra pillows or a throw, and table top items, lamps - sorry no pictures there! Anyway, the little extras should be your personal touch. You could add some bundled sticks, or any of the great stuff you find outdoors. So how much did our little spree cost us? Sofa $799 Chair$449 Picture $329 Tables $538 for both + Budget for lamp, throw, pillows etc... $400 Grand Total $2515. Plus if you use the "don't pay interest till 2011" plan that's only $179.64 a month. That was FUN! -John K.
