Talsma Furniture is a family owned and operated furniture retailer that has served West Michigan for over 60 years. Currently with 3 locations, our stores feature a complete line up of home furniture including Living Rooms, Dining rooms, Bedrooms, Home Office, Entertainment, Mattresses, Youth Bedroom and Accessories. We also provide free local delivery on qualifying purchases over $399. Each of our stores have a large furniture and mattress showroom as well as a clearance center with one-of-a-kind, over stocked, and floor model furniture items at discounted prices.

Our History
Co-founder of Talsma Furniture, Bert Talsma


Talsma Furniture was founded in Hudsonville, Michigan by Bert Talsma and his father. Bert had spent some time working at other furniture stores and helping his dad with farming before getting into the furniture business himself. At first the small store carried everything from appliances to gifts, and later focused primarily on furniture. There were some bumps along the way, including a fire that destroyed the Hudsonville location and forced the Talsma family to open a location in Holland in 1984. When the Hudsonville store was finally rebuilt, the Talsma's focused on growing the chain, and on the Grand Rapids area. After several additions to both Hudsonville and Holland, the family decided to open a third location in Byron Center in 1999. Talsma Furniture is now run by both of Bert's sons and one of his daughters. In 2011 we are celebrating 63 years of business!

Talsma Furniture is supporting Broyhill with its national sponsorship of the Make-A-Wish Foundation by delivering Broyhill furniture to Wish Kids.
